Pokemon GS Chronicles Cheats & Cheat Codes for Game Boy Advanced

Pokemon GS Chronicles is a ROM hack of Pokemon FireRed, originally released in 2014. Pokemon FireRed, launched in 2004, sold over 12 million copies. This ROM hack features a renewed storyline and various mechanical changes, earning widespread acclaim as one of the best ROM hacks in the Pokemon series.

Pokemon GS Chronicles Premise

The story of Pokemon GS Chronicles is inspired by Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Players begin by running errands for Professor Elm, which eventually rewards them with a Pokemon. After choosing one of three Pokemon, players are free to explore the world, collect Pokemon, battle foes, and compete in gym tournaments to become a Pokemon Champion.

As a Pokemon trainer, your mission is to explore the world and collect new Pokemon, each with unique battle types, combat moves, and designs. Encountering Pokemon in the tall grass can lead to battles where you must decide to fight or flee.

New Features

The revamped game introduces new mechanics such as cutscenes, route changes, day/night cycles, and custom move sets. Additionally, it features new puzzles, updated graphics, new trainer rosters, and the Exp. Share mechanic. There is a lot to explore in this enhanced Pokemon experience.

Starting Pokemon

Players can choose from three starting Pokemon: Cyndaquil, Totodile, or Chikorita.

Main Characters

  • Ethan: One of the protagonists players can choose. Although the official name is Ethan, players can change it. Ethan lives north of Cherrygrove City on Route 30 and can choose from Cyndaquil, Totodile, or Chikorita as starting Pokemon.
  • Lyra: The second playable protagonist. Like Ethan, players can change her name. She also lives north of Cherrygrove City on Route 30 and has the same starting Pokemon options. The unchosen character appears in-game as a friend.
  • Team Rocket: The antagonists of the Pokemon series, operating in the Kanto and Johto regions. Their main goal is to steal or capture rare Pokemon for profit, often selling them to cruel research organizations.
  • Professor Elm: The resident Pokemon Professor who gives players their first Pokemon. Specializing in Pokemon evolution, he is known for his scatterbrained and disorganized nature due to his research focus.
  • Silver: The main rival of Ethan and Lyra. First encountered on the outskirts of Cherrygrove City, Silver tests the player’s strength throughout the game. He always chooses a starting Pokemon that is strong against the player’s choice (e.g., if the player chooses a fire-type Pokemon, Silver will have a water-type).
